Camp 2009 - Oakura Beach |
A great Christmas
Camp was had down at Oakura Beach Camp. The turnout
was great even if the weather was not. As usual
we did not let this spoil the fun. |

| Fire
Station Visit 2009 |
We all went on
some tough training, hosted by the Oakura Fire
Station. This included putting on the full fire
suits including the breathing apparatus. Great
fun!! |

| Dub Freeze
2009 - Tauranga |
Some of the more
hardy Taranaki members went over to Tauranga for
the annual Dub Freeze camping week end. A god
time was had by all. |

| VW Nationals
April 2009 - Hawkes Bay |
It was a great
turnout again this year to the VW Nationals. Hawkes
Bay was also kind with the weather. Everyone had
a great time. |

Round
The Mountain - March 2009 |
We thought it
was a great idea to spend the week end driving
all the way around Mt Taranaki. Whilst driving
around we stopped at many places either for coffee,
a guided tour or just a quick look. |

Maize Maze - February 2009 |
It was one of
our Fish and Chip Friday's, but this one was a
little different. Firstly we decided to attempt
the Maize Maze in the dark - great fun, we then
all sang Happy Birthday to Olivier Whitehead who
turned 7 - Happy Birthday!! |

Inglewood
Car Show - February 2009 |
Taranaki VW Owners
Club was invited to show our V-Dubs at Inglewood
High School - so we did!! After the show we went
down to Corbett Park to cool off, got food from
The Terrace Take Away and had a drink at the Boardriders. |

2008 - Oakura Beach |
Its that time
of year already!! We all headed off for a camping
week end at Oakura beach camp. A great time was
had by all, we even had a visit from Santa Claus
- excellent!! |

Night - September 2008 |
Another Movie
afternoon was had at Huw & Helen's where we
watched Backdraft and a Bug's Life. We then had
some drawing competitions for the kids while the
adults enjoyed a BBQ. |

Konini
Lodge - August 2008 |
Well the weather
couldn’t have been more perfect for an event
like this. If you were expecting it to be cold,
you wouldn’t have been disappointed at all.
It was beautiful and clear though, with freshly
fallen snow on the surrounding bush creating a
true Taranaki winter paradise. |

Hang In
There! - July 2008 |
This month's activity
was called 'Hang In There!' As the name suggests
it was an afternoon down at the YMCA Climbing
wall. The kids really enjoyed themselves - even
the adults managed to reach the top of some of
the climbs.
The afternoon finished off with
a short mystery tour ending at Huw & Helen's
for some pizza and chips. Thanks to Jonathan Whitehead
and Bryan Moyes for arranging the day. |

Hauled
Over! - June 2008 |
The plan was a
sand castle building competition. The weather
was not on our side!! So the backup plan kicked
into action. We went to Puke Ariki and had a look
around the Taranaki Whenua exhibition. After this
we made our way to RIO's workshop where had our
own version of Overhaulin', namely Hauled Over!
Teams of two were timed swapping
the front wheels of Bryan & Raechel's beetle.
The fastest team of the day were the Vivians.

and to Bryan & Raechel for letting us abuse
their beetle. |

Camping
at Onaero - April 2008 |
There was another
great turn out for the camping at Onaero over
Anzac week end. The weather was not looking good
for Saturday but we still had sunshine on the
Friday and most of he Saturday, which ended with
a BBQ at Jonathan & Linda's - thanks guys! |

2008 |
There was a great
turn out from the Taranaki VW Owners club this
year at the VW Natioanls. This year they were
hosted by Waikato VW Owners club and took place
in Cambridge. There are a few pictures below but

| On a fine Sunday
afternoon, we met at Paritutu Rock car park with
no idea where we were going. |
| We were given
a set of directions and an answer sheet. We travelled
to different locations in New Plymouth answering
the questions as we went. Our final location was
the Cafe at New Plymouth airport where we enjoyed
afternoon tea. |
